Cusumano has earned 17 Emmy Awards throughout his time at KSDK-TV, including Best Sports Anchor for his sports reporting and storytelling. Also, he is a Heisman Trophy and St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame voter and holds an Edward R. Murrow Award. In addition, he was honored by the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame with the Jack Buck Award in the month of April 2017.

He says that his job gives him great pleasure to be able to share the story of these remarkable athletes from his community.
