Kevin Coskren Education

Coskren joined the University of Notre Dame in the year 1990. There he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1994. Afterward, he joined the University of Wisconsin in 1994 where he obtained his Master of Science degree in Meteorology in 1997.

Kevin Coskren Career

Coskren’s journey of knowledge took him to the University of Notre Dame. There he obtained a master of Science degree in Meteorology. In 1999while he was forecasting weather for WKBT-TV in La Crosse Wisconsin, he earned the AMS seal of approval. In addition, Kevin moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in June of 1999 to work as KLKN-TV’s morning meteorologist.

Coskren, later on, got a promotion to KLKN’s Chief Meteorologist. He earned for himself a number of awards and also made appearances on The Discovery Channel. As an example, “Storm Chasers” was after his coverage of an Ef-4 tornado. It almost destroyed the town of Hallam Nebraska in May 2004.

In the Summer of 2012, Kevin became the Chief Meteorologist at WLNE in Providence, Rhode Island. There he encountered everything from hurricanes to nor’easters. Kevin would often find himself stranded at the station due to heavy snow and wind. After enduring some of the coldest, snowiest winters in New England’s history, Kevin and his family headed south to Augusta, Georgia, where he says there are two seasons – Summer and next Summer.

During the summer of 2012, he became Chief Meteorologist at WLNE which was provided in Rhode Island. It was then that he encountered everything from hurricanes to nor’easters. During heavy snow and wind, he often found himself stranded at the station. Coskren and his family went headed south to Augusta after experiencing some of the coldest snow and winters in New England’s history.

For him, the covering of severe weather during the Master’s golf tournament was among his best experiences. This is especially after a tornado warning was issued 10 miles north of Augusta while Tiger Woods was just stepping into the 18th green on the verge of his 2019 Masters victory.

In addition, Kevin and his family are delighted to be in central Pennsylvania. There they can experience all four seasons. Again, he states about his love for kids where he says that if he wasn’t a broadcast meteorologist he’d likely be a teacher.

Finally, Lancaster County Emergency Management Director Doug Ahlberg stopped by the studio on 24th July 2012 and appreciated Kevin with a certificate for his commitment to public safety over the years. Luke Dorris replaced him.
