Ketz is a proud alumnus of St. Ambrose University – Davenport, Iowa. When it comes to his profession, he serves at KMBC as a weekday evening news anchor, appearing on the 6 PM, 9 PM, and 10 PM newscasts. Kets started as a 5 PM weekday anchor at KMBC.

He started his career in broadcasting when he was 18 years old. He started as a weekend news anchor for WQUA, a Moline, Illinois-based radio station. Ketz rose through the ranks to become the station’s news director after working as a morning and afternoon news anchor.

He debuted on television with WQAD-TV, after spending 4 years at WQUA. At WQAD, he progressed from producing and co-anchoring the weekend newscasts to co-anchoring the weekday newscasts.

Ketz is an affiliate of the Hispanic Media Association of Greater Kansas City. In February 2016, KMBC shared that Ketz had a sleep problem called obstructive sleep apnea. This happens when the tongue falls back, blocking the airway and causing pauses in breathing during sleep. Ketz’s wife noticed something was wrong, recorded a video of him sleeping, and showed it to a specialist, Dr. Jason Graff. He discovered that Ketz was not breathing for about 38.5 seconds during one episode. Ketz was then advised to use a CPAP machine, which helps with sleep apnea by delivering air to clear the airway. After the treatment, he recovered and is doing well now.
