Wilson serves at WSB-TV as a morning news anchor. She began at the station as an anchor on Channel 2 Action News at 6 PM and 11 PM on weekends. She is thrilled to be back on air in Atlanta for a second time. Wilson has worked in four other television markets. She got her start on television when she was in elementary school and was cast in telephone and Christmas cookie commercials.
As a teenager, while her friends were doing sports after school, Lori was co-hosting a local talk show that was broadcast on PBS stations in Central Indiana. Lori would go on to graduate from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s in Journalism and a minor in African-American Studies.
Before joining WSB-TV, she spent 3 ½ years working for WISH-TV in her hometown of Indianapolis. Prior to that, Lori spent 7 ½ years at WCAU in Philadelphia, where she held a number of positions including anchor, reporter, and host of the 10! Show.
While at WCAU, she reported live from the second inauguration of President Barack Obama, anchored coverage of Hurricane Sandy, and field-anchored everything from station coverage of NBC’s Education Nation to the Phillies home opener. Prior to WCAU, she spent 3 years at WGCL in Atlanta as an anchor and entertainment reporter. Lori’s first anchor job was with KSLA in Shreveport, Louisiana and her first reporting job was with WCIA in Champaign, Illinois.
In every city Lori has worked, she has been passionate about giving back to the community. She created an online magazine for young Black women, she is a member of NABJ, a children’s book author, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and The Indianapolis Chapter of The Links, Inc.
