She joined KGW in December 2014 and left in May 2022. Vespa announced in a February episode of KGW-TV’s “The Story” that she was leaving her job at the Portland NBC affiliate. 

Maggie comes to Portland from Tucson, Arizona, where she worked for KGUN as a general assignment reporter and anchor at 9 p.m. for two years (ABC). Maggie covered every subject under the scorching desert sun at KGUN. Being the first crew on the scene in the small border town of Nogales, Arizona, where thousands of undocumented migrant children had been rounded up by US Customs & Border Patrol, was one of her most unforgettable experiences. Maggie was also the producer of “Vanished,” a documentary series about unsolved abduction cases in Arizona. Her efforts yielded new leads in two investigations that had been dormant for decades.

Maggie started her television career in Peoria, Illinois, where she grew up. She covered the news that mattered most to her family and community as a reporter and weekend anchor at WEEK & WHOI.
