Maggie Wade Education
Wade graduated from Utica High School after attending Hinds County Public Schools. Wade was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities by Belhaven University in May 2017. An Emmy-nominated news anchor, she was the 89th member of her family to attend Jackson State University.
She switched to Mississippi College in her 2nd year to pursue a career in corporate law. But it was at Mississippi College that she discovered her radio talent. She worked for WHJT-FM, the school radio station, before WJDX-MISS 103 employed her as a marketing researcher, a weekend news anchor, and a radio announcer.

Wade received an invite to participate as the first guest co-host of the Montell Williams Show in New York City following Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. Wade traveled to Spain in October 2000 with other journalists for special coverage of the “Majesty of Spain” Exhibition, which was on display in Jackson from March to September 2001. Wade serves as a Hall of Fame member of the Mississippi Association of Public Broadcasters.

The Jackson Music Awards also recognized her for Outstanding Community Service. Southern Christian Services for Children and Youth honored Wade with the Angel in Adoption Award. The Associated Press, the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters, and the Jackson Association of Black Journalists have all honored her efforts.
In the year 2005, she received the Woman of Distinction honor from the Girls Scouts for her work with children. Moreover, she received the 2006 Mississippi Citizen of the Year honor from the March of Dimes. Wade received honors from the Mississippi Brain Injury Association.
