Things changed rapidly after he started his first work as a photojournalist at KJCT-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado. And he relished the opportunity to shoot and edit news pieces.
However, he was soon given the opportunity to work in the weather department. He found himself returning to college with no notion of what or how to predict the weather. He studied Broadcast Meteorology at Mississippi State University’s online campus.
Following his tenure in Grand Junction, Colorado, he found himself packing his belongings and heading to Colorado Springs, Colorado to work for KOAA-TV. Witcher worked as a weekend meteorologist while also shooting and editing news during the week.
He finally secured a full-time weather job at WBIR-TV in East Tennessee after around two and a half years there. Witcher has been waking up at 2 a.m. for nearly ten years to give you the weather report for 10News Today and FOX 43 News.
Onward and forward, a position at WeatherNationTV in Denver, Colorado, became available. He needed to take advantage of the opportunity to be at home with his family while also trying his hand on a national stage. It was an incredible experience, and being able to spend time with family was even better.
