Thomas worked as an anchor/reporter at FOX 2/KPLR 11 in St. Louis for more than 6 1/2 years before her Oxygen assignment. She covered the 2014 unrest in Ferguson, Missouri after police were engaged in the shooting murder of Michael Brown while in St. Louis. From beginning to conclusion, the dedicated journalist chronicled the events closely daily.
During one of the most severe nights of rioting that spurred protests around the country, she even anchored for more than 8 hours overnight, bringing minute-by-minute events to the audience. Also, she covered major flooding in the region, as well as American Idol in Los Angeles.
