Lewis serves at Fox 5 as an evening news anchor, appearing on the 8 PM newscasts on “FOX5PLUS”. She also serves as a host of the podcast “THEGOODWORD”. After spending over four years as a reporter and fill-in anchor at FOX 32 News in Chicago, Illinois, she joined FOX 5. She reported breaking news from the NATO front lines, the landmark Chicago Teachers Union Strike, and the 2012 Presidential Election while there. Lewis has weathered and survived the blistering cold of the Windy City, including the 2011 Blizzard, 2014 Polar Vortex, and 2015 Blizzard! The creation of Sisters Peak, a youth mentoring initiative designed to help women students ascend to their peak of success and accomplishment, was one of her most beloved moments in Chicago. In 2002, in New York, she began her broadcast journalism career, working behind the scenes on At Large with Geraldo Rivera on Fox News Channel and with Rita Cosby on The Big Story Weekend Version. Two years later, in Bakersfield, California, she became a reporter and fill-in anchor at KGET, the NBC affiliate.
As a “Posse Member” on the Black Entertainment Television (BET) chat show Teen Summit located in Washington, D.C., she had her first taste of television at the age of 14. At BET, she participated in the nationwide “Rap-It-Up” public service announcement by Kaiser Permanente focusing on HIV and AIDS literacy. With many groups, including the Miss America Group, NAACP, and Habitat for Humanity, she’s a proud volunteer. She played classical piano for more than a decade before chasing the headlines, violin for two years, and Alto B saxophone for three years because she enjoys music! She has appeared at The Duke Ellington Academy of Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. with the DC Youth Ensemble.
Lewis was an anchor and reporter for the FOX station in Indianapolis, Indiana, prior to joining FOX 32 News. While there, she reported reports that made national headlines, including a lethal teen bullying case, the take on 2010 by Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, and the road to Super Bowl XLIV by the Indianapolis Colts.
